PRISM is the Queen’s University Belfast LGBT+ staff network, providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for LGBT+ staff in Queen's to regularly meet during working hours to discuss LGBT+ issues and work matters, in addition to planning social events both on and off campus.  The network is open to all members of staff who identify as part of the LGBT+ community, with monthly planning meetings on Friday afternoons and more informal lunchtime get-togethers, enabling LGBT+ staff to unite both professionally and socially.

PRISM has had a significant impact since its launch in 2018, helping to promote LGBT+ equality across the campus and informing University policy, whilst also delivering events for key dates in the LGBT+ calendar including Belfast Pride, LGBT History Month, and International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. Other events include pub quizzes, nature walks, and film screenings, all contributing to the University’s award-winning LGBT+ staff network which has been recognised by GNI and the Northern Ireland Equality & Diversity Awards.

If you are interested in joining PRISM, please email  The University has agreed that attendance at monthly meetings is open to all LGBT+ staff, and is not in lieu of lunch breaks etc. If a member of staff has any difficulties arranging to attend PRISM meetings, they are encouraged to contact the Chairpersons - Richard Robinson and/or Sally Bridge - for assistance and support.  All emails will be treated in confidence.



Whilst attendance at PRISM’s monthly planning meetings is focused on staff who identify as part of the LGBT+ community, the network also relies on the support of allies throughout the University, who are encouraged to attend our events, assist with the planning of larger projects, and champion LGBT+ equality and inclusivity at Queen’s.
